概要 Using an overlapping-generations model, this paper examines how the intergenerational distribution of consumption, welfare, and financial wealth is affected by public debt issues and social security systems. I show that an intergenerational gap in consumption and welfare is narrowed when the scale of the policies is sufficiently small, but that it is widened in the case of relatively large scales. I also show that depending on the scale of the policies, the position of individual financial wealth relative to the economy’s average follows either a hump-shaped path or a monotonically increasing path.
