概要 This study investigates the population distribution surrounding nuclear power plant sites in Japan, focusing on the extent to which evacuation zones encompass resident populations in the event of a nuclear emergency. By analyzing spatial demographic data across multiple census years, the research aims to identify patterns and variations in population density within defined distance buffers around nuclear facilities. The findings reveal significant differences among regions, underscoring the limitations of uniform, radius-based evacuation policies. This spatially grounded demographic analysis contributes to the growing body of literature on nuclear disaster preparedness and highlights the need for more adaptive, evidence-based risk management strategies in the siting and operation of nuclear power plants.
